Seeing is Believing

Colossians 1:24-29, “I can even celebrate the sorrows I have experienced on your behalf; for as I join with you in your difficulties, it helps you to discover what lacks in your understanding of the sufferings Jesus Christ experienced for his body, the church. This is the very reason I’ve been made a minister by the authority of God and a servant to his body, so that in his detailed plan I would fully equip you with the Word of God. There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience. Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it! Christ is our message! We preach to awaken hearts and bring every person into the full understanding of truth. It has become my inspiration and passion in ministry to labor with a tireless intensity, with his power flowing through me, to present to every believer the revelation of being his perfect one in Jesus Christ.”

John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

5 statements

Truth

1. God is infinitely good far more loving, gentle, and kind to His children than any earthly Father imaginable

2. God is also infinitely complete nothing can threaten or disturb Him, Nothing can be taken away from Him, making Him less or complete nor added to Him to make Him more complete.

Way

3. Your journey now is to see who you truly are, for you are the light of the world, the son and daughter of Your Father. A new creature flowing with more beauty and power than you dared to imagine possible.

Life

4. You will only see who you are and thus be who you are as you surrender your attachments to all other identities, which are like god’s of a lesser power that block your vision of your true identity and keep you in darkness.

5. Love, joy, and peace are the manifestation of your true identity and the Fathers realm on earth as in heaven through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Today’s Text

Luke 6:42, “Or how can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,” when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye?  Hypocrite!  First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that in your brother’s eye.”

Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

John 14:12-13, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father and whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Ephesians 1:18-21, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what the the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”

Perception determines your experience.

If your vision is clear
your earthly experience
will be full of light.

If your vision is blocked
you will see darkness
like storm clouds all around you.

You will see offense instead of grace.

Fear instead of love

1. Why don’t I see clearly?

You are seeing through the flesh’s eye, your old mind’s eye.   What did our text say?  There is a plank there.  Planks of offense and grievance.  First take the plank out of your eye, then you will see clearly.

 There it is.

Adam and Eve the first thing they did after eating the fruit was to judge and condemn themselves for being naked.

Then Adam blamed Eve. Eve blamed the serpent. The fruit of the fall is grievance. Grievance against yourself. Against your brother. Against the world.

For this reason: darkness and anxiety in all of the forms that they appear in are all we see! They haunt your memories. And they rise with each new offense to threaten you again and again. So, as the light of the world condemnation and grievance become the basket that covers up and hides our lamp stand. And like Adam you hide yourself when he judged his nakedness and covered up his true, authentic, identity.

2.  The first person you condemn is yourself

What happens:

A victim who must protect yourself from the coming storm. Or, satisfy yourself with pleasures to numb the pain.

Remember when you were born again you became light you were remade in His likeness when you condemn yourself you deny who you are and so are judged by your own judgement not God’s

All of these grievances block the light of the Son of God. So, we must remove all the clouds of darkness in our lives.

Anything that is distorting our perception that we are true son or daughter of the father.  That we are Born again we have died with Christ, we have raised with Christ and we are presently seated with Christ.

If you can’t see that you have things that are blinding you to the truth and those negative and deceptive thoughts have to go.

Stop believing the serpents lie!

That you are not made in the likeness of your Father. That you become like God by knowing good and evil.

What actually follows that is condemnation, grievance, protection, and blame.

3.  Seeing is believing

When you truly see who you are then the Word opens up to you as a child of God.

John 14:12-13, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father and whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

In Jesus name is not just a tag line on the end of our prayers.

A prism. A radio dial. Water distorts what we see inside of the water. Align yourself with the intention to see all with the eyes of Christ. In Jesus all darkness must flee. All shame is replaced with honor. Grievance is traded for forgiveness. Sorrow turned to joy.
