Hear the sound of the Trumpet

Hear the sound of the Trumpet

Memorial Day 2020

Hear the sound of the Trumpet

Numbers 10:1-10

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you. When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey. When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys. And when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but not sound the advance. The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations. “When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the Lord your God.”

It shall be a memorial for you before your God

I am the Lord your God

  • This is a day that we remember in America
  • We remember the price that was paid for us to live in freedom.
  • We remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice
  • We remember those who served and were willing to give that same sacrifice.
  • We remember the God who gave it all for all of us.  We have been redeemed.

Wednesday, I taught on this scripture to give us a understanding of the biblical interpretation of the two trumpets today I want to speak to you about our current situation and give you as clear of  a word as possible of how we must hear the sound of the trumpet today.

  • The trumpet called them together
  • It  called them to move on in their journey
  • It called them to go to battle
  • It called them to remember in every solemn and joyful day who they were and who God was.
  • The Lord is calling us together

There is so much division in our land and everyday it gets worse.

I used the word irresponsible in my email update as a illustration of this.

Instead of being led by the Lord and governing ourselves which is what America has been built on we are being told that everything is irresponsible.

You see as Americans our land only works if we govern ourselves.

So personal responsibility is a high value of what it means to be an American so when the voices are telling us that this is irresponsible it starts to set the perspective of what people think is right and wrong.

And pretty quickly our compass gets skewed because you as a good person who has always done what is basically right now could be looked at as a criminal because someone said this is irresponsible.

So how does the Lord remedy this The Trumpet Blows and he calls us back to His Word, back to truth, back to unity.

2.  The Lord is Calling us to Journey on

We have lived much like the children of Israel these last two months.

In the building, out of the building, on Facebook Live, in homes,  in the parking lot, in Onalaska, in the building, We have to move forward, Together we Rise, Together we win.

He is Near, Chase the Light, be purified with fire.

Only what is of Him remains

If you are holding on to things they will destroy you

The Lord has been calling us to journey on to leave those things in the dust.

Families that have done this during this time are closer together

walks, bike rides, fishing, dinner together,

3.  The Lord is calling us to battle

You better be ready to stand up for your most basic rights

There is a power struggle going on for the very soul of our nation

The Freedoms that we celebrate today on this Memorial Day are all under attack.

We must think for ourselves

We must ask questions

Don’t do everything they tell you to do

The trumpet is blowing recognize its sound

In Africa where COVID is low they are starving their people to death

In Zimbabwe people are in camps

Intercessors become those who declare His Kingdom Come His Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven

Be responsible but remember what that means

Be in alignment to the Word of God

Love your enemies

Don’t walk in fear, don’t walk in Judgement of others, don’t pour shame on people.

Love wins!  Christ is Love!

4.  Remember Christ everyday

They blew that trumpet at every feast

Every solemn day

Every new moon

This is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it

Today is the day of revival

In 1968-1969 the Hong Kong Flu hit the world

It was the last pandemic

It was a shift morally and spiritually

No we did not shut down the world

Estimates are that 1 to 4 million people died from this flu

They termed it low by the numbers as a pandemic goes

As of this day 321,459 have died from COVID world wide

We did not destroy the worlds economy over the Hong Kong flu

Life went on pretty normal in fact there were major things that happened historically in those day I would love to discuss all of them but I am going to just touch on two very different happenings that year.

300,000 young people gathered in a muddy pasture in New York State to get high, to get sex, and to listen to music.  They shifted the mindset of the counter culture To sex, drugs, and rock and roll.  That group is the current culture of America today.

The Jesus Movement

At the same time young people from all over the county began to turn to Christ and away from mainline denominations to Spirit Filled bodies.  Today most leaders of Charismatic, Pentecostal churches can trace their roots to this Jesus Movement.  I was saved at the end of the Jesus Movement but it touched me.  It touched Grace International when the hippies of Los Angeles were hitting the beaches revival broke out in all the coastal towns in Redondo Beach one of the biggest moves was documented by Life Magazine at our Grace International church in Redondo Beach.

So today in a very weird way the People of Woodstock and the People of the Jesus Movement are meeting in this Pandemic and the two philosophies are polar opposites.  Hear the trumpet church

This is a day of revival what God did in the last pandemic he can do it again.

He is the God of Revival hear the sound its time to align
