Malachi 4:6, “And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
These are the very last words of the Old Testament.
Prophetic words for today
I love the word turn, It is such a positive word.
Turn around. Turn the page. Turn towards me. Where there is a turning of the hearts there is no curse. However, where hearts have not turned that is where the curse lives. Today, I want to focus on where the hearts of the fathers and the children have turned their hearts to each other.
1. In order to do that you have to know which line to believe!
I never caught a fish with my Dad, we fished, but we never caught a fish. I caught fish with my step Dad but we never fished.
Both experiences taught me something…The question is which line will you believe?
Hebrews 13:5 second part of the verse, “I will never leave you nor forsake you!”
The enemy says: you’re a failure I will destroy you!
What line should I reel in?
Dads God says, I will never leave you nor forsake you!
So that you can say
Hebrews 13:6, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what can man do to me?”
What I say is built on what God says
God says I will never leave you nor forsake you then I can say the Lord is my helper, I will not fear!
2. When you choose that line it turns the Childs heart
Liz and her Dad
Liz’s Dad my dad
Piece of cake!
3. When you choose that line it turns your heart
Romans 6:16 The Passion Translation, “Don’t you realize that grace frees you to choose your own master? But choose carefully, for you surrender yourself to become a servant—bound to the one you choose to obey. If you choose to love sin, it will become your master, and it will own you and reward you with death. But if you choose to love and obey God, he will lead you into perfect righteousness.”
This truth is solid.
You can lay the whole weight of your soul upon it and know that it will not break.
Out in the apple orchard Yikes!
What ever truth promises, count it as money in your pocket!
The father who cleaves to it is free! The truth shall make you free!
I will never leave you nor forsake you, therefore I can say the Lord is my helper I will not fear!
4. Blessing is the opposite of a curse
The last line of our text
Malachi 4:6, “Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
When he turns the hearts of the Fathers to the children and the children to their fathers what follows is a blessing.
Years ago I changed my signature from love and prayers to Blessings. Love and prayers is what I could give blessings is what God can give. When we live in the blessing we give the blessing.
See I have set before you blessings and cursing, Life and death…Choose life.
I will never leave you nor forsake you, The Lord is my helper I will not fear.
Romans 15:13 The Passion Translation, “Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!”
