Catching a Vision of the New Wine

Catching a Vision of the New Wine

Catch a Vision of the New Wine

Mark 2:22

And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

At the end of last year the phrase New Wine in One Nine was dropped into my spirit.

Since that time we heard a message on the last Sunday of 2018 New Wine in One Nine at that time we talked about the vision of Church on the Lake and practical ways we were going to move forward with the idea of new wine.

A new wine skin in its most simple understanding in todays world is a new operating system.

We don’t necessarily use wine skins in our everyday life.  But we do use phones, pads, and computers.  And we understand that if you have a windows operating system you can not use it in an Apple computer and vice versus.

So today I want us to relook at the first 4 statements of our vision

I want us to catch a vision for it and pray into them

And for us as individuals and as a collective body to begin to walk them out in our everyday life.

Jami John’s on floor Mic:

Proclaiming the gospel with life-giving, dynamic worship that shows passion for Christ, with powerful prayer that makes a difference in our day and with an unshakeable commitment to the Bible as God’s Word and guide for life.

Prevailing?  What is that?

Matthew 16:18

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Here we see the Church prevails and not the gates of hell.

The church prevails when we proclaim the gospel

You are the Christ the Son of the living God

That is the Rock that prevails

Life giving dynamic worship

That shows a passion for Christ

Powerful prayer that makes a difference in our day

An unshakable commitment to the Bible as God’s Word and guide for our life.

The week of Prayer and the Bible

These were practical steps to take to move toward the vision

To create new operating systems.

Artistic expressions of worship and the Word

Now lets pray into that that we all might catch a vision of it at church but also in our lives how can that statement be true about me at home?

That accepts people wherever they are in life’s journey, believing in the value of people created in God’s image and that God can work a miracle in transforming any life.  We are a church that says, “welcome home”.

1 John 4:7-11

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

That champions the timeless message of Jesus Christ in a relevant way to every generation.  A church where young and old alike find a home and a valued place to belong.  A church that reaches across the ethnic, socio-economic and racial divides of our day.  We want to be a church that looks like heaven.

Matthew 28:18-20

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

In order to do this we have to be disciples who are worth multiplying

That opens to the power of Holy Spirit to heal physical, spiritual and emotional pain; believing that God is able to bring wholeness to every area of life.  We are a church that heals the hurting.

3 John 1:2-4

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

I shared with you about the ministry of healing that was happening in Vietnam.  Things like that are not meant just for one group of people God is alive everywhere.

There is a phrase that you hear a lot these days:  Hurting people hurt people.

Here is a new one healed people heal people

Why is it important to walk in healing because it touches others

Not just physically

When you have been healed from emotional pain God can use you to heal others.

May we see ourselves as a healing church but also as healing Christians.
